Seated in the bottom on The Pearl Hotel, Thorny Oyster brings to life Chef Hansell’s modern rendition of traditional coastal cuisine. It’s no surprise that the raw bar selection takes center stage—oysters, crab, and ceviche fresh caught and fresh prepared—encouraging guests to find enjoyment in food that feels fancy but not fussy, done up and still a little undone. A plush cocktail bar, which boasts a menu of fine libations including pre-Prohibition style signature craft cocktails and a variety of wines, spirits, and select beer. The dim and dapper lounge, frequented by Hancock County locals and visitors alike, overlooks beautiful beach boulevard, where guests can opt for outdoor patio seating to enjoy the salty breeze while sipping. The specialized menu includes drinks like the Black Pearl and the Bay Bridge Bonfire, and while there are inventive concoctions aplenty, try a Hemingway Daiquiri to certify that our mixologists know their cocktail history too.
The Reef at Pearl Hotel is the property's newest shop for apparel, sundries and art -- including originals by artist Billy Solitario, who is responsible for Pearl Hotel's oil painting in the hotel lobby, and prints of our one-of-a-kind photographs that adorn guest rooms and corridors that showcase the rich oyster culture for which this hotel pays homage to.
The Reef also carries footwear by Havaianas, sunglasses by Knockaround, drinkware by Toadfish Outfitters, locally made oyster knives, "oyster art" by Pass Roots and hand-thrown ceramic mugs by the area's own "Mad Potter," Steve Barney. Lastly, the Reef also offers beach chair and umbrella rentals for those guests who would like to take a short walk to enjoy a day at our beaches.
Cosmos is Pearl Hotel’s most recent addition to the ground floor that is a fun, casual cafe that features specialty coffees, fresh fruit daiquiris and made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch offerings.
